GLD Group houses a number of sports and fashion brands which we market and distribute across the UK and Europe. We’re looking for a full time Product Manager based in Manchester to work with our Teams and Clubs across Football, Rugby and F1, and bring the Umbro story to life through product.

Who you are

Someone who can assist the Head of Product in driving the Umbro Replica and Performance categories.
Experienced in the product creation process (Degree level qualification in product or merchandising preferable),with great communications skills and an eye for the finer detail. Min 3 years’ experience in a product based role.
Have great problem-solving skills and a can-do attitude. The ability to think on your feet and learn new things.
Great organisation and analytical skills. Have the ability to travel for work when required.


Works directly with our partners and assets directing the sell in and creation of Umbro’s seasonal collections. Conducting internal and external sign off meetings and owning the product relationship across Football, Rugby and F1.

Accountable for the management and co-ordination across Umbro’s Performance and Replica product collections. Overseeing the flow of information between design, development, customers and our supply base. Provides product, CAD, sampling and merchandising direction to the apparel category team, leading the product agenda with all stakeholders.

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Responsible for the management and coordination of the category. Including collation of CADs, tech packs, line plans and spec sheets, factory communication and product tracker updates.
  • Supports the gathering of seasonal trend and market information.
  • Manages the creation and maintenance of line plans. Overseeing coding, colour and price information.
  • Assists in the management of sample feedback through to product commercialisation.
  • Construct briefings using seasonally relevant insights and market research data.
  • Ensure briefs provided to and by the PMs are understood and clear, and are made available as required.
  • Adhere to the company financial metrics assigned for the category to ensure margin targets are achieved.
  • Defines Replica product range structure across the Pro Teams department.
  • Maintain Style and SKU efficiencies across the category.
  • Collaborate with the wider Pro Teams departments to ensure business needs are being met.
  • Leads and conducts dialogue with Sports Marketing and Commercial assets relating to product engagement.
  • Lead collection review and sign off meetings with Sports Marketing and Commercial assets.
  • Ensure critical dates are met for all key category activities.
  • Participate in scheduled critical meetings, highlighting any risks to the business and their associated impacts.
  • Ensure seasonal line plans are signed-off and spec sheets are circulated around the business in line with the critical paths.
  • Work with PM’s, Account Managers and Sales to understand where gaps are within the relevant offerings, and where opportunities could be explored.
